The NBA All-Star Game need changes after an embarrassing showing last season with zero defense and effort from the players participating in the game. The NBA decided to do something different this season and have the top two vote getters (LeBron James and Stephen Curry) pick their teams. The end results were largely well received as the players put on a competitive game that went down to the final possession.
Most are crediting the new format might have saved the long-term future of the game. Colin Cowherd points out that the reason the All-Star Game was saved was not because of the format, but rather by the effort of LeBron throughout.
