The NFL has finally come to its senses! The NFL competition committee reached a unanimous agreement on Tuesday to work on changing the controversial catch rule to relax the "going to the ground" requirement. That's great news for receivers that find themselves in similar situations to Jesse James, who was controversially ruled incomplete after what seemed to be a game-winning touchdown in a pivotal AFC game late in the 2017 regular season.
Steve and Jeffrey Gorman rejoice the change that the NFL is chasing, but have a problem with the process of how they got there. Zach Ertz caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl in an extremely similar manner to Jesse James but this time it was ruled a catch. It's looking more and more like Roger Goodell made sure the catch rule was changed prior to the Super Bowl, after a season of calling it another way.
