Penn State running back Saquon Barkley's stellar performance at the NFL Combine didn't just solidify the highly-touted prospect as the best running back of his class, but began a narrative that he may become the first pick of the 2018 NFL Draft!
Mark Willard and Chris Broussard explain why his performance at the combine is being overstated, and call on fans and analysts to pump the brakes. Saquon Barkley will certainly be a very good player in the NFL but success in the league isn't solely based off how you perform in a skills competition. His production in college doesn't stack up with many of the great young running backs currently in the NFL, and a quarterback-driven league doesn't generally warrant drafting a running back with an early first round pick.
