Give Mid-Majors Their OWN Tournament

“Everyone was excited when UMBC beat Virginia, but people would be just as excited if 16th ranked Northwestern beat UVA.”

After his controversial take on Tuesday to ban ALL mid-majors from the NCAA Tournament given the fact they play terrible conference schedules, Jason Smith doubled down on this take, saying the NIT Tournament should become be the top 32 Mid-Major schools battling it out from now on, and leave March Madness to the 68 best teams from Major Conference teams in the ACC, Big Ten, SEC, PAC-12, Big 12, Big East, and AAC.

Smith said that even though schools like Buffalo, Loyola-Chicago, and Nevada notched big-time upsets this past week in the first and second rounds, they literally have no shot to win the NCAA Tournament, so why even include them if all they're doing is knocking out the best big market Power 5 teams?
