Meek Mill Is Not A Hero

Rapper Meek Mill was released from prison today and the entire city of Philadelphia celebrated along with him. Mill was courtside as the 76ers defeated the Heat to move on to the second round of the NBA playoffs, and was given the honor of ringing the ceremonial Liberty Bell prior to tipoff.

But while many were celebrating his release from what was viewed by many as an unjust prison sentence, Jason Smith and Mike Harmon put the rapper's violations in context and explain why he is not a hero. The famed Philadelphian is a repeat offender of parole and has shown the inability to stay out of trouble. While it's good that he isn't sitting in prison for four years for popping a wheelie on a motorcycle, he is not innocent and he should not be praised as a hero.
