J.R. Smith Should Have Accepted the Blame

With Game 1 of the NBA Finals tied with 4.7 seconds remaining in the game, George Hill missed a free throw that would have put the Cavaliers in the lead. J.R. Smith was able to get the offensive rebound but instead of putting up another shot or making a quick pass, Smith ran away to dribble out the clock. As the buzzer sounded you could read Smith's lips saying "I thought we were ahead."

Despite all of that, after the game J.R Smith claimed that he knew the game was tied and he was just trying to get space away from Durant, then thought a timeout was coming. Clay Travis speculates that Smith is lying in order to avoid criticism, which ironically is going to lead to more criticism.
