Accepting Responsibility Was The Right Move

Accepting Responsibility Was The Right Move

University of Maryland President Wallace D. Loh on Tuesday said the school "accepts legal and moral responsibility for the mistakes" made by its staff that led to the death of offensive lineman Jordan McNair. The young, promising athlete died of heatstroke essentially due to being over-worked and under-hydrated.

While college athletic scandals seem to be the norm, Steve and Jeffrey Gorman give credit to the University of Maryland for accepting responsibility for their actions. While nothing will ever make up for the tragedy that occurred, putting to death the notion that all that matters is football is one way to begin the healing process.
