The Dodgers will see a familiar face take the mound in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Braves, but it won't be future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. Longtime Dodger Hyun-Jin Ryu got the nod by manager Dave Roberts thanks to a stellar month of September and a home ERA of just 1.15.
Jason Smith and Mike Harmon are in agreement that while Clayton Kershaw may go down as the greatest pitcher in Dodgers history, the right move in 2018 was to push his start to Game 2. Sometimes the right choice isn't the easy one, but making a decision based off of legacy would hurt the team when they need all the help they can get.
