Absolutely horrible news coming out of Georgia.WTVC reports that last week, a six-year-old boy named Brantley Chandler passed away after suffering a heart attack before taking a team photo with his Little League team.
Chandler collapsed on Thursday as his Rock Springs Mustangs team was preparing for the team picture. Just a few hours later, Chandler passed away.
According to Brantley Chandler's mother, Meghan Bryson, she says that her son was born with a rare congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which is a birth defect that affects the blood flow through the heart and she toldWTVCthat he had been fighting for his life for an hour and seven minutes.
The condition is found in four to 16 of every 10,000 live births in America, according to Cleveland Clinic data.
