Giannis Spurns 'Space Jam 2' Offer, Says He'd Rather Look Good on the Court

Giannis Antetokounmpo is in the middle of a possible MVP season with the Milwaukee Bucks. Currently, the Bucks are sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference with a (60-21) record.

This summer, LeBron James will begin working on his highly anticipated 'Space Jam 2' movie and is currently looking for other NBA stars to take roles in the movie. However, according to Malika Andrews, Giannis was asked by LeBron if he wanted to be in the movie but reportedly declined because he is unwilling to give up two weeks of his time that is meant for personal training to make an appearance in the movie.

Antetokounmpo does make summer modifications to accommodate for relaxation and family time. Still, when approached about starring in “Space Jam 2” with LeBron James, Antetokounmpo declined. Being in the film would have required him to give up two weeks of private workouts to train with his fellow stars while making the movie, a total non-starter, given Antetokounmpo’s reclusive tendencies.

In 'Space Jam,' players like Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues, Patrick Ewing, and Shawn Bradley all joined Michael Jordan in the hit movie. With Giannis off the list, LeBron James will turn to other superstars such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, to name a few.

The Space Jam 2 movie is scheduled to hit theaters July 16, 2021.
