Steph Curry, James Harden, & Kevin Durant Will Not Appear in 'Space Jam 2'

With all the troubles going on with the Lakers organization right now, James is reportedly having trouble of his own getting top names to join him on “Space Jam 2.”

According toTatiana Siegel of the Hollywood Reporter, sources close said that due to Nike's ties to the "Space Jam" franchise Steph Curry and James Harden are both unlikely to appear in the new film that will start shooting this summer. Curry is signed to Under Armour, while Harden is under contract with Adidas through 2028.

"Space Jam 2" will reportedly not go the 'Dream Team' route like in 'Space Jam 1" and focus more on James' family life.

Yesterday, news came out that Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked by LeBron if he wanted to be in the movie but reportedly declined because he is unwilling to give up two weeks of his time that is meant for personal training to make an appearance in the movieaccording to Malika Andrews.

Filming on “Space Jam 2” starts in June. The movie is due in theaters on July 16, 2021.
