Pelicans Agree To David Griffin As President of Basketball Ops

Anthony Davis & David Griffin

The last big news to come out of the New Orleans Pelicans camp was GM, Dell Demps being relieved of his job after the trade demand debacle between the Lakers and the Pelicans. The Lakers saved their explosion for the end of the season with Magic Johnson stepping down as president of basketball operations. Some of the talk has been that the best candidate to take over in Johnson's absence was David Griffin. Griffin was somebody that'd be comfortable for LeBron James since their days in Cleveland were considered good. That idea got thrown out of the window when this occurred:

Griffin will now oversee the pending trade status of Anthony Davis. While some may think it's a slam dunk for LeBron James and the Lakers, there's also plenty of reason to indicate that Pelicans still want nothing to do with LeBron, the Lakers or Klutch Sports.
