Listen to Jason Smith explain why he thinks West Virginia’s Will Grier should have played in WVU’s Camping World Bowl game versus Syracuse in what would have been the senior’s final college game.
The WVU star was expected to be a second round pick who could possibly jump all the way up to the first round, but shockingly plummeted all the way to Carolina at no. 100 in the third round.
Check out the audio below as Smith thinks that Grier’s draft stock suffered an unnecessary self-inflicted wound by missing out on the bowl game, and says Grier’s resume wasn’t established enough for him to simply blow the postseason game off. With the amount of praise Daniel Jones got from Dave Gettleman after the Senior Bowl, Smith says Grier could have absolutely wooed an NFL scout who would have seen him play in the Camping World bowl.
