CC Sabathia passed one of the great milestones in all of sports, throwing his 3,000th career strikeout. 3,000 is the only number CC Sabathia needs for the Hall of Fame, but he'll also have 250 wins, which is now officially the new elite benchmark for pitchers. 250 wins is going to look impossible when you look at where the other active 'wins leaders' are and where they'll wind up. Justin Verlander will likely hit 250 but there's only one current pitcher under 30 who has at least 75 wins (Bumgarner, 111). Here's the rest of the active win leaders:
Greinke - 191
Lester - 178
F. Hernandez - 169
Scherzer - 160
Hamels - 159
Kershaw - 154
None of them are getting to 250.
