Nets' D'Angelo Russell Cited at LaGuardia Airport For Marijuana Possession

Brooklyn Nets All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell was cited on Wednesday for marijuana possession.

According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, Police found marijuana in a Arizona Ice Tea container can Russell's luggage during a routine search.

Russell would be forced to enter the league's marijuana program if he is convicted of possession, but he wouldn't be suspended until the third violation.

Russell, 23, is a former first-round selection of the Los Angeles Lakers. He has played the last two seasons with the Nets and averaged 21.1 points per game and 7.0 assists per game this season, when he earned his first all-star selection. This is a huge summer for Russell as he will become a free agent this summer.
