Listen to Jason Smith explain why he thinks Philadelphia 76ers star point guard Ben Simmons is already at a crossroads in his young career, as the 22-year-old has been unable to take the next step as an elite player in the postseason.
Simmons has always been considered one of the best passers in the game but his perimeter shot is non-existent and it’s really starting to show against a defender like Kawhi Leonard in these playoffs. Simmons is averaging less than double-digit scoring for their teetering series vs. Toronto and some are wondering if Simmons is always going to function as a non-shooter.
Check out the audio below as Jason worries that Simmons could be the next Rajon Rondo, and a guy who is supremely gifted distributing the ball and locking down on the defensive end, but a player whose potential was forever clipped because of his lack of a jump shot.
