Listen to Rob Parker and Chris Broussard get in a heated debate over the current state of the NBA as the Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors boasts two teams with very different identities.
Rob thinks Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors have a chance to SAVE the NBA from the Super Team era that LeBron James started that saw friendly superstars around the league ‘team up’ in big markets to win championships. Rob says it would change the league forever if Kawhi is able to prove it doesn’t take 2-3 stars to win and show fans that parity is actually possible.
Chris says the NBA doesn’t need saving and believes the player mobility and the ‘Hot Stove’ of the NBA makes its players the most marketable athletes in the United States. He also says the parity we have nowadays parallels the same dynasties of the Celtics in the 50's and 60's, the Lakers in the 80's, and the Bulls in the 90's.
