The St. Louis Blue have won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. They defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-1 in game 7 at TD Garden in Boston.
The Blues were being outplayed in the first period but managed to score two late goals from Ryan O'Reilly and Alex Pietrangeloto take a 2-0 lead . The Blues took a 3-0 lead halfway through the third period on a goal by Brayden Schenn and then made it 4-0 four minutes later when Zach Sanford scored his first goal of the playoffs.
The Bruins avoided a shutout with a goal by Matt Grzelcyk with just over two minutes left.
Ryan O'Reilly was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.
