Colin Cowherd Says Kawhi Leonard Leaving the Raptors is Bad for Basketball

Colin Cowherd: “It’s best for the NBA if Kawhi Leonard stays. The Vegas title odds this morning are the Lakers, Warriors, Rockets, Nuggets, Jazz, Blazers, Raptors, Bucks. If Kawhi leaves the Raptors, Milwaukee is the only Eastern Conference team in there. The West also just got Zion Williamson and Ja Morant, easily the two most dynamic rookies. The Celtics are hemorrhaging players, the Sixers could lose Jimmy Butler & Tobias Harris, and the Raptors could lose their best player too. I DON'T WANT ALL THESE PLAYERS COMING WEST. Privately, I think Adam Silver is really worried about the Western Conference becoming the SEC."

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Adam Silver and the NBA is privately hoping that superstar free agent Kawhi Leonard stays in Toronto.

Colin discusses the colossal upcoming free agent period in the NBA, as it’s widely considered to be one of the most important in sports history. Colin says with the Celtics deteriorating with the likely exits of Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, and with the Sixers expected to take a big step back with the exoduses of Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and JJ Redick, Kawhi Leonard leaving the Raptors for the Clippers would be a deathblow in terms of keeping the NBA’s competitive balance between the East and West.

Check out the audio above as Colin thinks Kawhi leaving the East would lead the NBA down an ill-fated path of losing the attention of the entire east coast.
