Doug Gottlieb on Earl Thomas Having No Regrets Flipping Off Pete Carroll

Earl Thomas Says He Doesn't Regret Flipping The Bird At Pete Carroll

Doug Gottlieb (in the audio above) reacts to a recent interview with Earl Thomas to ESPN stating that he had no regrets flipping off his former team, The Seattle Seahawks.

Earl Thomas: "I don't regret my decision. If my teammates felt like it was toward them, I regret that part. But I don't regret doing that to Pete. I think my time just ran out. Pete and the front office didn't value me like they used to, and I just talked to Coach Carroll, and he was saying how he was trying to get me in the plans of getting a new contract. But I got hurt the next week. I think I hurt myself too by my actions getting carted off the field. We got to walk with each other the rest of our lives because we won a Super Bowl together. But they'll love you one minute and then hate you the next. That was our relationship."

Doug Gottlieb goes on to explain his frustration with how ungrateful athletes are.

Doug Gottlieb: (To Earl Thomas) Just so we're aware, they paid you every penny of your contract...Remember, he didn't come to training camp because he wanted to hold out until the Seahawks either renegotiated his contract or trade him to another team. Missed training camp and preseason and just days prior to week 1, he showed up, and he was activated on the roster. He got hurt in week 4 and still got his WHOLE deal, but he thinks they didn't VALUE HIM?...WE'RE RAISING THE MOST UNGRATEFUL GROUP OF ATHLETES I'VE EVER POSSIBLY SEEN!...THIS JERK WALKS INTO THE COWBOYS LOCKER ROOM WEARING A SEAHAWKS JERSEY, AND HE'S GOT A YEAR LEFT ON HIS DEAL SAYING 'COME AND GET ME!' AND YOU'RE MAD AT THEM!!!?? HOW DARE YOU!!
