Colin Cowherd: “Team USA is building its roster and most of the good players have said they’ll ‘pass’. It’s a JV team now and Carmelo Anthony STILL can’t get invited. Why? Because players love Melo unless they have to play with him. He doesn’t play defense, he lacks self-awareness, and he’s never been in great shape. He’s a ‘nice guy’ but he’s never been a good basketball teammate. All you melo fanboys told me for years how mean I was and now this guy can’t even get an invite as a bench role player for Team USA basketball in a year where all the good players are turning it down.”

Listen to Colin Cowherd comment on Carmelo Anthony's ongoing free agency, as the former NBA scoring champion and future Hall of Famer continues to be unemployed.

Colin says perhaps the biggest shot at Carmelo’s current standing in the league is the fact he can’t even get an invite to United States Basketball for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, despite countless stars backing out of the event.

Check out the audio above as Colin says Carmelo may be a beloved figure among NBA player but says there’s no love for the Melo when he actually has to be on their team.
