Colin Cowherd: “Stop comparing Aaron Rodgers to Tom Brady. Rodgers is Big Ben and Drew Brees is Brady. Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger are ‘spectacular play’ quarterbacks but you don’t win Super Bowl like that. You win Super Bowls from ‘Death by 1,000 cuts’ without one or two signature plays and that’s how Brady and Brees won theirs. It’s nice to know that me and Bucky Brooks are fighting off pom-pom waving Aaron Rodgers fans.”
Listen to Colin Cowherd comment on a recent article written by former NFL player, and current Fox Sports Radio host Bucky Brooks (Fox Sports Weekends w/ Jonas Knox Saturdays 4-8 ET, 1-4 PT), that detailed why Aaron Rodgers is ‘overrated’ and ‘not a top 5 quarterback’.
In the article, Brooks, who played four seasons in the NFL from 1994-1998 as a kick returner and defensive back, took exception to an article by The Athletic ranking Rodgers the best quarterback in the NFL. Brooks then details why Rodgers is living off his reputation from his MVP seasons of 2011 and 2014, and says he hasn’t been the same player the last 5 years, going just 24-21 since midway through the 2015 season.
Check out the audio below as Colin explains why agrees with Bucky, and says Rodgers is a ‘spectacular play’ quarterback who can be responsible for some of the greatest plays in the history of the position, but a guy who doesn’t stay consistent between those incredible plays.
