Greg Jennings: “I’ve always been very critical constructively on Aaron Rodgers because I have an experience not only with him but within that organization, so I’ve been validated to do so. But I have never once been unfair when it comes to his ability on the football field. I respect Bucky Brooks and I think the statistics he chose to put together validate his point, however, I throw out every statistic when it comes to this topic simply because of the eye test. If we show all of Aaron Rodgers' highlights and flaws, WE WANT THAT GUY. We don’t need anyone to flash us statistics. It’s why the executives rank him number 1. If number 12 is on the football field, I’m a lot nervous.”
Former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings came to the defense of Aaron Rodgers after NFL analyst Bucky Brooks published an article earlier in the week saying Rodgers was ‘Overrated’ and ‘Not a Top 5 Quarterback.’
Jennings has been known as public enemy no. 1 to the Green Bay fan base the last several years, as Jennings has established himself as a fervent critic of Rodgers’ since he left Green Bay seven years ago.
Jennings and Rodgers have had a very public feud for years, mostly with Jennings criticizing Rodgers’ leadership skills and calling him ‘selfish’.
Jennings, however, defended Rodgers on The Herd Tuesday, telling Colin Cowherd there is no way Rodgers is not a Top 5 quarterback, adding that Rodgers has a case for the greatest quarterback of all time, and a player who literally terrifies opposing defenses.
The 35-year-old Jennings was a two-time Pro Bowler alongside Rodgers in Green Bay from 2006 to 2012, and had three consecutive 1000-yard seasons from 2008 to 2011.
