Why Patrick Mahomes Will Not Regress After His Breakout MVP Season

NCAA Men's Final Four - National Championship - Texas Tech v Virginia
Colin Cowherd: “Some are suggesting a little step back for the Chiefs this year, what do you predict for Kansas City?”
Peter Schrager: “Everyone is predicting regression from Mahomes because he threw 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards last year and now there’s a ‘book’ on him… If you look at the plays Mahomes made there is no way a ‘book’ could have stopped a no-look pass or a throw that goes 80 yards off one leg. That doesn’t get solved by watching film.”

Listen to Fox Sports NFL insider Peter Schrager join The Herd and explain to Colin Cowherd why he thinks Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is going to deliver an encore to one of the greatest seasons in NFL history last year.

Mahomes won the NFL’s MVP award after incredibly passing for 5,097 yards and leading the league with 50 touchdown passes, compared to only 12 interceptions.

Schrager says Mahomes has some doubters who say the film is out on Mahomes, as defenses can now keen into his most flawed trends, but Schrager counters with the ‘film’ being able to predict a no-look pass, or an 80-yard hail mary; two now-signature plays for Mahomes at this point.

Check out the video below as Schrager says there will be no regression for Mahomes and the no. 1 seeded Chiefs.
