Colin Cowherd Ranks the Top 24 Best Running Backs in the NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars v Tennessee Titans

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss his countdown of the NFL’s best running backs a couple days after New York Giants star Saquon Barkley proclaimed himself as the league’s best ball carrier at an event for NFL Network in New York City on Tuesday night.

The former Penn State Nittany Lions standout had one of the greatest running back seasons in NFL history for a rookie, finishing with 2,028 total yards (1,307 rushing, 721 receiving), but for a Giants offense that enjoyed a lot of their ‘success’ in garbage time.

While counting down his list of the NFL’s best running backs, Colin reiterated the fact that the league is so incredibly deep at that position.

Earlier this week, Colin predicted Cowboys backup Tony Pollard would successfully supplant Ezekiel Elliott as Cowboys running back, and has long preached that Dallas should trade Zeke.

Colin doesn’t believe running backs are worth the $18 million that Zeke is reportedly asking for, and says if Bears running Tarik Cohen is all the way at 24, a 5’6” lethal weapon out of North Carolina A&T in his third year coming off a season in which he caught 71 passes for 725 out of the backfield, then it’s hard to justify paying the top guys so much more money.

Check out the audio below as Colin ranks his Top 24 backs.
