Breaking: Ben Roethlisberger To Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Seattle Seahawks v Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL media has reported that Ben Roethlisberger will undergo surgery to his right elbow after an injury he sustained facing the Seattle Seahawks.

The #Steelers announce that QB Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI on his right elbow and will need surgery this week. He is out for the season.

This injury comes on the heels of Drew Brees' injury making that two quarterbacks facing major setbacks for their teams this season.

Roethlisberger exited late in the second quarter of Sunday's 28-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, grabbing his throwing elbow after attempting a pass on the team's final drive of the half. He briefly went into the locker room but was on the sideline for the last two minutes of the first half and for all of the second half.
He had been labeled as questionable but never returned to the field.

Sophomore quarterback, Mason Rudolph is expected to pick up the duties at the helm to lead the Steelers for the remainder of the season.
