Colin Cowherd Says the 0-3 Steelers Could Still Make the Playoffs

Pittsburgh Steelers v San Francisco 49ers
Colin Cowherd: “Pittsburgh is 0-3 and you’re bailing on them. There are six 0-3 teams in the league and five of them are in the AFC. Last year the Texans started 0-3 and won their division, and Indianapolis started 1-5 and got to the playoffs. The AFC and ‘0-3’ isn’t a death sentence. The AFC is a mess besides Kansas City and New England. Look at their division. Cincinnati can never beat Pittsburgh and they're weak, Cleveland is a hot mess right now with Freddie Kitchens, and Baltimore, as much as I like Lamar Jackson, he’s not a Dak where we have seen the numbers. The guy has still only started half a season. In the next seven weeks they have five home games, a bye, and then they play in the smallest stadium in the league, Chargers stadium, which will be 70% Steelers fans. This division is still winnable.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss the backlash the Pittsburgh Steelers have received the last couple weeks for two questionable trades they have made in the wake of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s season-ending injury.

First, the Steelers traded a first round pick to the Miami Dolphins for cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick, then the Steelers sent a fifth round pick to Seattle for tight end Nick Vannett.

Detractors of the move are wondering why the Steelers are acting so aggressively in a winless season that seems to be dead with backup quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Cowherd, however, thinks the Steelers are still very much in the playoff hunt, and says you have to remember how bad the AFC is from top to bottom.

Besides undefeated juggernauts Kansas City and New England, Colin says there is not much after that, and says 0-3 is never dead in a watered down AFC, especially coming just one season after Houston won the AFC South after starting 0-3 and Indianapolis grabbed a Wild Card spot after starting 1-5.

Check out the audio below as Colin says the Steelers could still win the AFC North.
