Clay Travis does not hold back on the Des Moines Register and how they handled the Carson King story. After King was able to raise well over a million dollars for the Iowa Children's Hospital thanks to his College Gameday sign asking for beer money, a reporter for the Des Moines Register dug up old tweets from Carson King (who is now 24 years old) from when he was a sophomore in high school, which led to King holding a press conference to apologize for those tweets and also led to Anheuser-Busch disassociating itself from King. The update Clay had today is that thanks to old tweets the reporter himself had on his own Twitter page (which were offensive), he's been let go by the newspaper.
Clay has his producer try and contact the editor of the paper during the show to ask questions regarding the handling of this story, but all he is left with is an outdated voicemail greeting. Clay then decides to make his own personal donation to the Iowa Children's Hospital to support Carson King's efforts and challenges the Des Moines Register to come on Outkick and explain themselves.
