Colin Cowherd: “The Cowboys fired Scott Linehan because he was too conservative as a play-caller. We are now saying Kellen Moore is too conservative and predictable. Are they? Or, are they realizing there are things that Dak just can’t do and call plays to help him? When Dak is under center they almost always run and when Dak is out of the shotgun they almost always pass. Predictability is a very bad thing in the NFL. Dak has to win a certain way. If he faces elite defense, it gets ugly really fast.” (Full Video at Bottom of Page)
Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he’s losing faith in Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, just a week after Prescott’s Cowboys lost a low-scoring game versus the New Orleans Saints, in a game where the Saints didn’t even score a touchdown.
Colin alluded to a recent article in the USA Today that took a look at Cowboys’ play-calling over the course of Prescott’s career, and included revealing data about how predictable the Cowboys offense had been with Dak under center. Simply put, when Dak is under center, they run, and when Dak is in the shotgun, they pass.
Colin says former Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was fired for being ‘too conservative’ and yet we’re now calling the team’s new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore ‘too conservative’ as well.
Are they conservative or were they simply calling the only types of plays that Dak is capable of executing?
Check out the video below as Colin says Dak has become too predictable of a passer, and a guy who is being extinguished by good defenses.
