Listen to Clay Travis explain why he thinks the Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston eras are over on their respective franchises as the two former Heisman winning trophy candidates who were two of the highest rated draft prospects of the decade had arguably the worst games of their entire careers on the exact same day.
Mariota was 7/18 for only 63 yards and two interceptions before being benched in favor of Ryan Tannehill. Mariota has just seven touchdowns in six games, and ranks second to last in the league in QBR, only ahead of the condemned Josh Rosen.
Winston threw for 400 yards but was picked off five times and lost a fumble close to the red zone in their London loss to the Carolina Panthers. Winston’s 10 interceptions are second in the NFL.
Both players are playing in their fifth-year option seasons and are picking the worst possible times to fall flat on their faces, with lucrative contracts potentially right in their grasps now slipping away.
Check out the audio below as Clay explains why a loaded 2020 quarterback class could spell doom for the embattled signal callers who are looking more undesirable with each passing week.
