Listen to Colin Cowherd rave over the potential of Arizona Cardinals rookie starting quarterback Kyler Murray, as the first professional athlete in history to be selected in the first round of both the MLB and NFL Drafts has vaulted to the top of the list of front-running candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The 22nd-year-old ranks 14th in the NFL in QBR, 8th in passing yards, and is on pace to throw for 4,085 yards (63.9%) and 19 touchdowns, compared to only 8 interceptions. He’s also added 351 yards rushing with two touchdowns on the ground as well.
Colin says he would rather have Kyler than Baltimore Ravens MVP candidate Lamar Jackson for the next 5 years, and believes the creative playmaking Murray is the closest thing we have to Russell Wilson in this league.
Colin is impressed that Murray has made a bottom-feeding Arizona team, who went 2-14 with disgraced former first round pick Josh Rosen, into a competitive landmine every week for opponents, in a loaded NFC West division with the 49ers, Seahawks, and Rams.
Check out the audio below as Colin explains why Murray reminds him of Russell Wilson, who was also a former baseball player.
