Colin Cowherd presents his three best college football bets for Week 12 (November 14th) (Full Video at Bottom of Page)
In this week’s installment of Colin Cowherd's MARQUEE THREE, Colin is setting his sights at Michigan State at #15 Michigan, #4 Georgia at #12 Auburn, and #8 Minnesota at #20 Iowa.
Michigan State at (15) Michigan – (Spread: MICH -13.5)
"I think Michigan is better but are they THAT much better? I'll take Michigan State +13.5. People are raving about Michigan being able to run the ball but they aren't top 15 in the country in rushing. Then they talk about quarterback Shea Patterson and I look and see that they're not even top 50 in the country in passing efficiency. Mark Dantonio is 8-4 for his career against Michigan and Jim Harbaugh hasn't gotten tight in these big games. He's only 3-7 against Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Michigan State can run the football, and Dantonio's 4 losses to Michigan were by 4, 2 9, and 14. I think we have overvalued them based on the Notre Dame win. I think Michigan wins, but Michigan State COVERS.
COLIN'S PICK: Michigan 28, Michigan State 17. Michigan State +13.5.
(4) Georgia at (12) Auburn – (Spread: UGA -2.5)
"Take Georgia -2.5, they only have to win by a field goal. Georgia has dominated this series and they are significantly better at quarterback with Jake Fromm over freshman Bo Nix. We talk about Auburn's defense but Georgia's defense is BETTER. They're number one in the SEC in virtually everything. Georgia hasn't had a turnover in their last three games. This will not be a high scoring affair and you should bet the under (41) if you had to bet anything. Nix has struggled against every good defense that Auburn has played. Against top 40 defenses he completes 45% of his throws. Gus Malzahn has never proven to me that he can beat Georgia or win big games and I'm swallowing the points."
COLIN'S PICK: Georgia 28, Auburn 23. Georgia -2.5.
(8) Minnesota at (20) Iowa – (Spread: IOWA -3.0)
"Minnesota just beat Penn State but Vegas knows Iowa is the favorite and knows Iowa is going to win. Iowa has dominated this series, which is no surprise because they have had the better players; just look at the last ten NFL Drafts. The Golden Gophers haven't beaten ranked teams in back-to-back weeks in 51 years. They've only played three road games this year and in two of them they beat crappy Fresno State in double overtime, and struggled to beat Purdue. Yes, they looked great against Penn State in the game of the century but now you're taking all those 19 and 20-year-olds on the road to Iowa against a team with better personnel. Iowa has a great defense and is basically no. 2 in the Big Ten in every key category. Iowa wins and covers."
COLIN'S PICK: Iowa 27, Minnesota 20. Iowa -3
