Videos and Images Surface of Astros Possibly Wearing Buzzers in 2019 ALCS

A mysterious Twitter account claiming to be Carlos Beltran’s niece dropped a bombshell allegation alleging that Houston Astros superstars Jose Altuve and Jose Bregman wore ‘buzzing devices’ while at bat, and then made allusions to Altuve telling his teammates to not rip his jersey off after he hit a walk-off home run in the 2019 ALCS to not expose the device.

Whether or not the account is really Beltran’s niece, as ESPN’s Marly Rivera said Beltran’s family told Rivera that they have no relation to the individual running the account, it was correct when it said ‘My Tio is stepping down as Mets Manager’ a full 24 hours before Beltran officially stepped down on Thursday, and Barstool Sports’ Dallas Braden says the clandestine account broke news of Beltran’s hiring with the Mets before the media dropped the news as well.

After the Altuve and Bregman tweet, photos and videos from the 2019 ALCS began to flood Twitter. The most notable being the actual video of Altuve rounding third after his game-winning home run versus Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. It appears Altuve really is telling his teammates to not yank his jersey off. You can see Altuve grasping the top of his jersey, as if to not let the jersey ride down and expose what was directly underneath it.

Altuve told Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal moments after the game that he was 'shy' having his shirt off on national TV, which his agent Scott Boras backed up as well. Users on Twitter then began uploading images of Altuve having his jersey ripped off in past games, with his chest and upper body exposed.

Other photos that made their way online were photos from Altuve's official social media accounts, showing Altuve posting photos shirtless on vacation and seemingly perfectly fine and content with showing off his bare body to millions of people following him on Instagram.

Further videos show Astros players naturally flooding the field in celebration directly after the home run, but you can see Altuve scurry off to the dugout for a brief period of time, before returning to the field. Possibly when he took the device off.

There was a clear photo of Astros outfielder Josh Reddick doing a postgame interview with Fox Sports, where you can see a piece of tape attached to an object that looks a lot like a wire. The object turned out to be a piece of confetti with the wire being Reddic's necklace.
