Colin Cowherd Says He's Never Pulled Against Baker Mayfield

Colin Cowherd: “I get a lot of people saying ‘YOU’RE OBSESSED WITH BAKER MAYFIELD!’ – No, I was RIGHT about Baker Mayfield; you were WRONG, and you just want to segway to another argument. In 29 NFL games, he’s got 35 picks. He’s got lousy judgement, he’s been cocky for two years, and he needs to grow up and be more measured and mature… But I thought Baker showed up on ‘First Things First’ this morning and was measured, was smart, showed growth, and was maturing. I really liked what I saw. He owned some stuff, realizes he’s got to get better, and was matured and measured… you may be surprised to hear this but I’m not rooting against Baker Mayfield. I find it hard to root against young people. I think he’s going to have a very good bounce-back year. I’ve already been right on this, so if you think I’m rooting to be ‘righter than right’ you’re wrong.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thought Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield looked as mature as he’s ever seen him look today on his Friday appearance on FS1’s ‘First Things First’ show.

Mayfield and Cowherd have always had a controversial beef in the media, as both have notably partaken in a handful on exchanges on Twitter, but Colin says he’s never once pulled against Mayfield on the field, and says it’s ‘hard to root against young people’.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he believes Mayfield might finally be turning the corner with his improving character, and predicts Mayfield has a ‘very good bounce-back year.’
