Clay Travis: My Month Old Idea of Tom Brady to Dallas Is Picking up Steam

About a month ago, Clay Travis argued that Tom Brady signing with the Dallas Cowboys was a move that would make a lot of sense for both parties involved. Well, a month later, this exact hypothetical is picking up steam across a number of different websites and sports talk shows.

Clay believes that if the Cowboys really loved Dak Prescott and were convinced that he was their guy, the talk of using the franchise tag on him would be nonexistent. They have had four years to figure out their future with Dak Prescott, and it doesn't seem like they know for sure if he is going to be their starting quarterback for years to come.

"Four years is plenty of time to know if somebody is the one, and the Dallas Cowboys have four years of quarterback data from Dak Prescott. They know whether or not they believe he is the answer. If they are franchising him, the answer is they're not convinced he's the guy."

Jerry Jones is in his late 70's, and his main goal in life at this point is to win another Super Bowl. If Jerry Jones isn't 100% convinced that Dak Prescott is the guy to get him to another Super Bowl, why not give it a go with Tom Brady for the next two seasons? The Cowboys offensive weapons are much greater than what Brady had at his disposal last season in New England, and new head coach Mike McCarthy is a proven guy who has won a title during his time in Green Bay.

Clay asks the Outkick crew which direction they would go if they were running things in Dallas, and he also polls his Twitter audience to get a sense of what people from across the nation would do.
