Colin Cowherd: “For the first time in LeBron’s career he's not in his prime and his career is ‘on the clock’. He made a risky move to a bad roster to a team who can’t get its front office straight… This is not about LeBron being happier, for the first time it’s about LeBron needing a team as much as the team needs LeBron. This is the first time he’s out of his prime, his career is on the clock, he’s had a big injury -- this was a risky move and the roster wasn’t great, and he has to get along and make sure it works. I don’t think he’s just 'happier', I think he’s vulnerable, and vulnerable people often make great partners. This is a new LeBron and the easiest to work for LeBron has ever been. He’s like a pitcher coming off surgery; doesn’t have the heater anymore and has to work the corners. He was always a ‘good’ teammate but now he’s a ‘great teammate.’” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is going to through a career transformation, as the once undisputed ‘best player in the world’ is now in the midst of a different chapter of his career where he’s still a superstar, but not the type of one-man show that he used to be.
Colin was alluding to a story written by Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes this week that detailed how LeBron is the happiest he’s ever been in his career at the age of 35.
Colin says LeBron has gone from ‘good’ teammate to ‘great’ teammate because he knows he’s at the end of his career, and knows he needs his teammates just as much as they need him to perhaps win him one more championship.
