Cowboys Should Let Dak Prescott Walk and Trade Up to Draft Tua Tagovailoa

Listen to Doug Gottlieb (guest hosting for Colin Cowherd) explain why he thinks the Dallas Cowboys should let polarizing quarterback Dak Prescott walk in free agency, and attempt to trade up to number three in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft to select Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Despite Prescott ranking 2nd in the NFL in passing yards and fourth in the league in QBR, the Cowboys were arguably the most disappointing team in football for 2019, as one of the most talented rosters on paper that featured an elite offensive line, All-Pro running back, Pro Bowl wide receivers, and gamebreakers on the defensive side of the ball went just 8-8, and failed to win the worst division in football, the NFC East.

Gottlieb thinks the Cowboys should offer two first round picks, which would include the #17 pick this year, and Jaylon Smith, for Detroit’s number three pick, with LSU’s Joe Burrow and Ohio State’s Chase Young widely expected to go 1 and 2.

Gottlieb says he believes Tua has a much higher ceiling than Prescott, and also believes it would give the Cowboys an escape plan not having to give into Prescott’s steep contract demands, and thus giving them more buying power all over the field.
