Clay Travis is reacting to yet another trade that was made by the Houston Texans. The Texans traded for Rams' wide receiver Brandin Cooks and a 2022 4th round pick, and gave up the 57th pick in this month's upcoming NFL Draft in return.
Clay goes over all the players and draft picks that the Texans have given up as well as all the players and picks they have received since August 31st of last year, and the list is lengthy to say the least.
Clay argues that the Texans are not as good of a team as they were this time last year, and Bill O'Brien and the Texans are missing their prime championship window. Deshaun Watson is still on his rookie deal, so he's not getting paid a ton of money yet. With Watson on his rookie deal, the Texans should be better since they could, in theory, build around him with superior talent, much like the Chiefs last season and the Seahawks with Russell Wilson years ago.
Clay compares the Texans' shortcomings with Deshaun Watson on his rookie contract with the Dallas Cowboys and their lack of real success with Dak Prescott while he was on his rookie deal.
