Dodgers Pitcher Joe Kelly Throws at Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman's Head

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly didn’t exactly hide his contempt for the Houston Astros during their first matchup since the infamous reveal into the Astros’ sign-stealing cheating scandal, as the fire-balling reliever narrowly missed beaning Astros sluggers Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman in the head during the sixth inning.

First, Kelly threw a 96 mph fastball right behind Bregman’s head during a 3-0 count, with zero runners on base and the Dodgers leading 5-2.

Two batters later, Kelly threw an 87 mph pitch right at Correa’s head with two runners on to open the at-bat, as Correa fell to the ground trying to duck down under the pitch that narrowly missed hitting the top of his helmet.

Kelly would later strike Correa out to end the inning, with both players barking back and forth at each other until the benches would finally empty.

Umpires and managers quickly set up a ‘barrier’ to prevent any players from coming into contact with each other, as strict COVID-19 regulations have been put into place to greatly reduce on-field communication between players, managers, and even umpires.

Kelly was not a member of the Dodgers during their World Series loss to the scandalous 2017 Astros, but was a member of a 2017 Boston Red Sox team who lost in four games to Houston in the American League Division Series.
