Dan Patrick thinks baseball is relying too heavily on analytics. He is especially mystified by the Dodgers basically having a bullpen session for game 2 of the World Series. While he understands the numbers behind the decision, he believes that stats don’t tell the entire story. He also proposes a solution for the extreme infield shifts we see on defense. Dan isn’t screaming for anybody to get off his lawn but he does think baseball may be outsmarting itself with some of these analytics driven decisions.
