He’s never liked to step into throws and always throws off his back foot, but you can’t do that your entire career. When you start having problems throwing the football you’re going throw it up and they’re going to be ducks, they’re going to float, and when there’s too much air under it you’re not going to complete those passes. Cam Newton is no longer the quarterback that he was, and that’s just a sliver into why he’s having such a bad year at quarterback… When teams know you can’t beat them with your arm, how many games are you really going to win? Newton has rushed for 11 touchdowns on the season, but he’s shockingly only thrown for just 5 in 12 games, compared to 10 interceptions. He ranks 29th in QBR, and has thrown for under 200 yards in 9 of those 12 games, including 4 with under 100 passing yards.
