Colin Cowherd: Andy Dalton is a Better Pure-Passer than Dak Prescott

Colin Cowherd: “All of you owe me an apology… When Andy Dalton came to the Cowboys I said he’d be the best backup in the league, and I said the gap between him and Dak is not very big. That was met with OUTRAGE! They’re first four years they were almost identical quarterbacks… I’ve always said that Dalton throws a better ball, and Dak is a better athlete… Dak started 1-3, and in the fifth game Dak gets hurt and Dalton comes in and led them to a win. Then is unraveled with a concussion for Dalton, he got COVID, and they went to backups on backups, but then they had a bye Week 10… Dalton since the bye si 4-2, with a 67.1% completion percentage, 13/4 touchdown-interception ratio, with a passer rating of 101.9 – that’s DAK, my friends. If the Cowboys win on Sunday they are 7-9 and are a playoff team. Dak started 1-3 and they were trailing. If Dak plays all year and Dalton is on the bench, what are they, 8-8? Dalton is the better pure-passer and Dak is the better pure athlete… The gap between Dak and Dalton is not massive. They both need a good offensive line and weapons to win games. Bucky Brooks says there are ‘trucks’ and ‘trailers’ in this league, neither one is a truck pulling their team, they’re a trailer getting pulled by their team and can win if they’ve got the right pieces. Andy Dalton his last 6 starts is what he was his first 4 years – a less mobile version of Dak, but you’re paying him $18 million and Dak wants $37 million… Dak is not worth TWICE of Dalton going forward.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss Dallas’ recent surge in the standings, and why Andy Dalton’s red hot play in December just further proved Colin right when he said three months ago that the gap between Dalton and Dak Prescott wasn’t big at all.

In his last 6 games, Dalton is 4-2 with 13 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, a passer rating of 101.9, and a 67.1% completion percentage.

Check out the video above as Colin calls Dalton simply a ‘less mobile version of Dak’, says he believes Dalton is the better ‘pure-passer’, and details why Dak definitely shouldn’t be making two or three times the amount of Dalton in free agency.
