Why Dolphins Should Trade Tua Tagovailoa and Take Another QB in 2021 Draft

Colin Cowherd: “I’m gonna throw a scenario at you. Buffalo hosts Miami on Sunday, Buffalo is a better team. What if Tua struggles, gets benched a third time, Miami misses the playoffs, and tomorrow’s headline is ‘NOT TUA IMPRESSIVE.’ What does Miami do with the number three pick from Houston? Think about this – their defense is GREAT, the number one scoring defense in the NFL. Their special teams are FANTASTIC, how many blocked punts? Excellent kicker, we know the head coach is great, and the development on the offensive line – Austin Jackson, I never thought he’d be this good as a rookie out of USC. The defense, coaching, and special teams is great and all that’s missing is a quarterback and it ain’t Ryan Fitzpatrick as the answer. You have the number three pick – Justin Fields and Zach Wilson are available. They’re bigger, look like they’re stronger than Tua, more athletic than Tua… Miami under Brian Flores will never have a top 3 pick again, he’s just too good. They have two firsts and two seconds and can roll the dice on one of these picks… Tua has not been a disaster and somebody would absolutely trade for Tua. Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow were asked to carry bad teams; Tua has been asked to manage what appears to be a very good team. Look at Tua’s yards per game, it’s LAST in the NFL among qualified starters. Herbert averages almost 300, Burrow almost 270, and Tua is at 160. He's done fine at managing a game, but every time he’s been asked to do more and WIN a game that’s not really what he can do.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Miami Dolphins need to seriously consider drafting a quarterback in the upcoming draft if rookie Tua Tagovailoa has another bad performance in their must-win game vs. the Bills in Week 17.

Miami is 10-5 on the year, but they will get the Houston Texans’ first-round pick because of the Laremy Tunsil trade; which would be the no. 3 overall pick at the moment.

Tua has 10 touchdown passes in 8 starts and averaged just 180.5 passing yards.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks the Dolphins should try and trade Tua, and draft a more mobile QB with a more active arm like Ohio State’s Justin Fields, or BYU’s Zach Wilson, depending on what the Jets do with the second pick.
