Finding sweet moments of romance amid the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic can be difficult, but it is possible. Just take a look at the viral video of this registered nurse preparing to administer the vaccine to his boyfriend of five years.
In the viral footage, viewers see Eric Vanderlee prepare to inject his boyfriend Robbie Vargas-Cortes, but was surprised to see a ring taped behind his rolled-up sleeve. "It’s been kind of a crazy year, and you know it’s been a fun ride to have you in my life," Vargas-Cortes, a 31-year-old emergency medical service supervisor said before popping the big question. The two were surrounded by co-workers and, as expected, the moment brought plenty of joy and applause to the scene.
"Today I drove through a blizzard to administer COVID-19 vaccine in Canton," he wrote on Instagram of the monumental moment. "When Robby pulled up his sleeve for his shot, there was a ring!! I am so happy and shocked! As we usher COVID into history, I am so excited for the future."
Speaking with CNN, Vargas-Cortes said that he had the ring for three years before proceeding with the now-viral moment. The couple revealed that they'll be planning the wedding after the pandemic wraps up.
