Are We Ruining the Sports Moment by Comparing Different Eras?

A lot of the talk leading up to Super Bowl 55 had to do with the star quarterbacks who were going up against each other. There were a ton of comparisons, and a lot of talk about the "GOAT." Could Patrick Mahomes catch Tom Brady? Could Brady win his 7th ring? These were just a couple of those kind of questions that were asked for two weeks before the big game, and related topics will surely be debated in the years ahead.

Clay argues that we may be ruining our fun with sports. Clay points to LeBron James. LeBron has undoubtedly been an unbelievable basketball player, but have we really been able to enjoy his greatness? Everything James does is immediately compared to Michael Jordan. Clay believes this immediate tendency to compare all-time greats has taken away from enjoying the moment.

Could the same thing that has happened with LeBron and Jordan become the norm for Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady? Will Mahomes have to live in Brady's shadow for the rest of his career?
