No Athlete Has Ever Meant as Much to His City as Drew Brees Has

On Sunday, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play, officially called it a career. Drew Brees has retired from football, and Clay Travis is reacting to that news and giving a little perspective on Drew Brees' amazing career.

Clay believes that no other athlete in America has ever meant more to the city that he played in, and it very possible that without Drew Brees, the New Orleans Saints may not even be in New Orleans today. The devastation after Hurricane Katrina was so widespread and destructive, and Drew Brees played an enormous role of bringing that city back to its feet, and soon after, he led the Saints to their Super Bowl title.

Brees retires as one of the most decorated quarterbacks ever statistically, and Clay Travis believes he is the clear-cut 3rd best quarterback of his generation behind Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Drew moves to broadcasting, and what's next for the Saints is a question that will be answered soon. Hats off to Drew Brees, one of the greatest to ever do it, and a true icon in the city of New Orleans.
