Spring is here, and that means baseball is back. The big leaguers have officially been under way for a week now, but for the Little Leaguers in the Travis household, the season opener took place on Tuesday night.
It was a great game for Clay's middle son, who is in his first year of kid pitch, a monumental leap in the game of baseball. However, this first game did not go without some head scratching controversy. As the teams took the field and the batter's box for the final half inning of the game, the lights at the ballpark suddenly shut off. Nobody knew what to do, and apparently there are still some unanswered questions.
Why did this happen? Who will get credit for the win? Team Travis was up by one run and trying to close out the game when the lights went out, but just handing them the win while the other team is set to bat doesn't seem quite fair. Will it be rescheduled? Can they finish this game prior to the next game when these two teams meet?
Clay is asking for your input on this on his Twitter account, as the Franklin Little League Commissioner clearly has some important decisions to make.
