The New England Patriots looked strange last year without Tom Brady playing quarterback. This upcoming season, they will look even more different. Julian Edelman has announced that he is retiring from football.
Already there are many who believe that Edelman will come out of retirement to rejoin Tom Brady in Tampa. For now, we must take Edelman at his word, and let the debate begin on whether he deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Clay Travis was curious on how the masses feel about Edelman's Hall of Fame chances, and posted a poll to ask. About 70% of people on Twitter believe that he is not a Hall of Fame player. Clay says that one big reason which may hurt "Minitron's" chances is actually the fact that he played with the GOAT; Tom Brady. Brady is a guy who for decades has elevated the receivers he throws to, which will lead some to take credit away from #11.
Ultimately, Edelman's regular season numbers will most likely keep him out of the Hall of Fame, and Clay's theory regarding Tom Brady may play a big part. Still, what a great career from Julian Edelman, one of Brady's favorite targets, and a postseason machine.
