Clay Travis: ‘LeBron Set a Record For Dumbest Tweet Ever By an Athlete'

Clay Travis: “LeBron James may have just set a record for the dumbest tweet ever sent by any athlete, and that is not a record you want to claim… LeBron, who is known all too well for not using his brain for anything outside of the world of basketball, decides to get on Twitter, post a photograph of the police officer in Columbus, Ohio saying ‘YOU’RE NEXT’ and puts up an hourglass and ‘#accountability.’ Upon being destroyed on Twitter by people who are posting the video of the police officer having to protect the girl, the police officer may have, probably even, saved the life of the girl who was about to be stabbed, and LeBron James basically doxes this guy, who now, because LeBron James has 50,000,000 followers, this police officer cannot in any way have a normal life anymore because LeBron James has essentially said that he is a killer. LeBron later deletes the tweet and makes no mention of it whatsoever… There’s all these ball washers and ball coddlers out there in the sports media that are desperate to curry favor with athletes. They don’t speak truth to power, and they are so concerned with what the athletes think of them that they don’t even apply consistent logic. LeBron James should be ashamed of himself and he should be ridiculed to the high heavens for what he did. This shouldn’t even just be a sports story, this should be a national story. LeBron James has deleted the tweet but he’s said absolutely nothing about the stupidity that has enabled it to be sent in the first place. In an honest, transparent, and fair sports media, LeBron James would be crushed for this, but we don’t live in that world. We live in a ball washing and ball coddling athlete-worshipping universe where people in the media who are supposed to care about the truth and holding powerful people accountable are so desperate to be liked by the athletes that they cover that they won’t even offer a word of criticism.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Clay Travis rip LeBron James for a now-deleted tweet that LeBron made on Wednesday concerning the recent police shooting in Columbus, Ohio.

LeBron tweeted ‘YOU’RE NEXT’ in all caps, with an hourglass emoji and an ‘#Accountability’ hashtag, with a picture of the officer involved in the recent fatal shooting of Black teenager, Ma’Khia Bryant.

However, body cam footage began to circulate showing the full entirety of the event, which shows Bryant wildly swinging a knife at another young woman, and then charges at another woman at the scene.

The officer shot Bryant four times, who would later be pronounced dead.

The ‘National Fraternal Orde of Police’ Twitter page instantly responded to the now-deleted tweet, defending the officer's actions and saying ‘@KingJames, with his vast resources & influence, should educate himself, and frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the fact before weighing in. This is disgraceful & extremely reckless. The officer saved a young girl’s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.'

Check out the segment above as Clay details why he thinks LeBron should be ‘ashamed of himself' for making the tweet, adding that LeBron continues to 'not use his brain for anything outside of the world of basketball.’
