A Culture Led by Kawhi Leonard is Setup to Fail Late in Games

LA Clippers boast a big roster, and it could very well be one of the best in the league, but they have one small issue that's continuing to hold them back. Clippers just came off a loss to the New York Knicks, which was a very close game in the final moments, but the Clippers could not rise to the occasion against what should be a more inferior team.

Colin Cowherd talks about how this has become a pattern for the Clips and has stats to prove it:

"If you look at their late-game clutch statistics, there are 5 teams in the NBA who are terrible in something called 'clutch points' (That's the last 5 minutes of a game with a point differential of 5 or less). Four of the teams have no talent: The Cavs, Magic, Thunder, and Rockets. Then there's a team with a BUNCH of talent, the Clippers, that's the 2nd worst in the league. What the hell is going on? It's not that hard to figure out. This is the issue when Kawhi Leonard is your star. He doesn't talk, he's odd, he's non-verbal. By the way, who is 2nd best in clutch points? The Suns because Chris Paul talks, and yells and coaches, and barks and screams...Leadership is talking and communicating!"

Colin Cowherd explains more in the audio below:

Colin continues: "When Kawhi is your star, and he's the culture setter, you're bad late in games. This is TWO YEARS now where this has been a problem. How in god's name are they the second-worst team in clutch points?"
